After seven stitches and a few weeks of healing up, we received our medical statement. BCBS had paid nearly the entire bill under routine care, leaving us with a token amount. As it turns out, BCBS is one of the many insurers that can meet their contractual obligations for care AND make money at the same time! Gasp!
